Living in Cambridge makes it easy to visit the Harvard Bookstore. The Harvard Bookstore is a Cambridge classic. No matter how many times you have been there, it is always exciting to open the door and find your way to the tables featuring the new releases in hardcover and paperback.
One of my fondest memories at the Harvard Bookstore is attending the reading a few years ago by Henning Mankell, the internationally acclaimed Swedish mystery writer. As I arrived on my Vespa, I saw him walking nearby, composing himself before the reading. I felt like I had spied Kurt Wallander on a case! Mankell's reading was very enjoyable. Afterward, he stayed on to sign books. I approached with a stack of a six of his novels. He could not have been nicer in signing all of them and engaging with me and others in conversation. A great memory at the Harvard Bookstore!
